TĀRAI KURA Te Pito Mata: Expressions of Interest for participation in a community of practice in 2023

Kia ora koutou! Ngā mihi nui ki a koutou,

Welcome to 2023! At Tārai Kura we are committed to supporting you on your journey of change and transformation. Providing opportunities for you to network and learn with and from other colleagues is a key part of our mahi.

On the back of a highly successful community of practice in 2022, where 8 schools, and 32 senior leaders and teachers joined us to explore collaborative approaches to teaching and learning, we would like to offer you an opportunity to join a community of practice (COP) in 2023.

By definition, A community of practice (CoP) is a group of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.” Etienne Wenger

To this end it is important that the focus of such a community is based around YOUR needs.

We would like to invite you to fill in this brief survey before Friday 27 January, the purpose of which is to gauge your interest in 2-3 potential contexts we could offer this year. These initial themes have been suggested in the feedback from our 2022 COP schools.

This expression of interest does not lock you into any commitment to participate.

From the feedback we will then develop a programme to support our schools needs and forward you a detailed outline of the organisation for the year, in early February, with an opportunity to register.

(Likely format: 4 school days of hui at various schools or settings around Tāmaki Makaurau- though there is an option for an online COP if we have interest in that format)

The cost of the facilitation, venue , morning tea and lunch is covered by Tārai Kura. Schools are asked to cover the release of the staff who attend.

Than you for taking the time to support us to support you ????

Ngā mihi nui
