Cultural Sustainability
By Judy Bruce •
New school builds, rebuilds and redevelopments all offer tremendous opportunities to vision and revision in ways that honor Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
In the Change Kete excerpt attached, we have curated some useful resources for you and your team. The kete has been designed to provide guidance and support as you journey through a visioning or revisioning process. The resource provides ideas to support you on your bicultural journey. The ideas and resources are in response to key questions such as:
1. How do, or might, you actively engage with mana whenua to inform all aspects of learning and design?
2. How are you developing and communicating a shared understanding of Māori tikanga/protocols, with a particular focus on mana whenua engagement?
3. How do, or might, you demonstrate New Zealand’s bi-cultural heritage through your physical and pedagogical learning environment?
