Tārai Kura | September 2022 | Pānui 11

By Diana Wilkes

Kia ora and welcome to our 11th Tārai Kura pānui.

In this edition we share two upcoming events, and focus on a key determinant of transforming schools: Wellbeing and Learning, Considerations for Space Design. We also reflect back on lessons learned from our recent online event, Mana whenua engagement and the cultural narrative: Informing school and curriculum design.

A key part of Tārai Kura mahi is the opportunity to share ideas and learn together. To that end we invite you to our next online event, Building Connections: Developing Schools as Community Hubs, Wed 19th Oct 4:30-5:30pm. This is a partnership event with Learning Environments Australasia, NZ Chapter.

We would also love for you to join us and the Planning Learning Spaces in Practice team for a special event with Grey Lynn Primary School, Thursday 20 October 2022, 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Check out more about this event here.

As the theme for this pānui is Monitoring Wellbeing and Learning and we invite you to read two articles:  Designing school spaces for wellbeing and learning and Hauora: Exploring programmes to promote and support the well-being of ākonga. Plus, check out the ‘Change Kete’ excerpt to access some additional resources and reflective questions.

Lastly, a big thank you to all our contributors to this month’s pānui. We appreciate your generosity in sharing your journey and learning in support of your colleagues.

Ngā mihi,

Tārai Kura Communications Team
